Memory itself, lost love printed on celluloid...
Matt Fontaine, The Stranger

Polished, evocative...
Brian Miller, Seattle Weekly

A filmmaker recalls a woman he loved years ago and reflects on memory, regret and the creative process. Premiered at the Little Theatre, Seattle; 2002 Northwest Film & Video Festival; Independent Exposure 2003.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
In a way "Passion" can be characterized as a found film.  In 2001 I was commissioned by the Northwest Film Forum to produce "The Barn," a trailer for Seattle's Grand Illusion Cinema.  In the final cut, we ended up using very little of the trailer's film-within-the-film.  I found myself unable to let go of the scenes we shot, which were sensuous in a way that evoked the European cinema of the 1960s.  So I crafted "Passion" from this left-over footage, adding on-set still and video images, including Jessica Kennan's audition for the film.
